...blocks. Well, they aren't really "blocks" per se. They are "building tools." They are expensive blocks, just flatter and cooler. And they come with a very realistic, huge set of blueprints, in their own cardboard carrying tube... just like the professionals use.
They also came with this adorable, I mean, useful hammer. See how big the page is to Jake's hand? He even got to go to their website and get a building permit, name the building, and see the locations of other kids (or adults) who have built Uberarc buildings on a map.
Here he is, hard at work. Of course, he didn't do anything BUT this (and sleep, because we made him) for the 18 hours following the receipt of the gift.
Here, you can see the shape of the pieces, and how they fit together. They have a lot of shapes other than the ones in this kit, too, available in bulk. They are VERY sturdy. These ain't yo' mama's Lincoln Logs, folks!
And, here is the finished product... Jacob's Ladder. He's doing his best King Kong impression. Yes, he's wearing shorts and a coat. It's Jake.
"The boys" had to get their pictures with the building, too, of course. Especially if they know it's going on the blog, after they feign opposition. "Mom? You aren't going to blog this, are you? Are you?"
And, there's Levi's favorite pose. He used to stand on big rocks and put his hands up in the air when he was a toddler and yell unintelligible phrases at us. Thankfully, then, he hadn't learned the rock n' roll sign, or whatever that is. I certainly didn't teach it to him. It was his OTHER parent. (insert stern, accusing look from a mother)
Hmm... he's either going to be an activist (for wonderful causes), a preacher (minus the rock n' roll sign), or a dictator.
